One of the best things about Big Sky is its proximity to Yellowstone National Park. Take 191 south from Big Sky to be brought right to the West Entrance, about an hour drive away. Most of our summer guests and many of our winter guests take advantage of this exciting destination. Talk to our concierge and front desk staff to get an idea of the best places to visit in the Park for your family and information on tour groups. Some of the Park highlights include:

Old Faithful:

The most iconic geyser in the country. This is a must see for anyone who has to check it off of their bucket list. Check the National Parks website to see when the geyser is scheduled to blow - its predictable to the minute!

The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone:

This is the most photographed feature in Yellowstone. Including the Lower Falls, this geological feature is sure to impress. Take the hike down to the Lower Falls base for a breathtaking experience

Yellowstone Lake:

If you want a serene setting for a hike or picnic, this high altitude lake is it. We like it for a great place to kayak or canoe and see wildlife like moose and elk.
